Reflections in the Visual Arts
Drew Gaines
Drew Gaines, is a Spring 2020 CU Boulder graduate, who majored in history with minors in ethnic studies and philosophy. She interned in Special Collections and Archives, Rare and Distinctive Collections, CU Boulder Libraries. With the Libraries' closure, Gaines moved from cataloging and archival projects to becoming a valued voice for Documenting Community.
Gaines has contributed a significant body of photography and audio interviews to the project, tracking her path from a closed campus to a deserted DIA before alighting in the changed Chicago suburbs of the North Shore.
Seen in her series of 'self-portraits,' Gaines' photography reflects the changed landscape of Chicago in the spring of 2020.
